Current Cape Coral Temperature

I'm a Ph.D. graduate of Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, Pa.) thus the CMU logo. My BS and MS degrees are from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. Nancy's a Social Worker with BASW and MSW degrees from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. We have lived aboard three large sailboats for a number of years and have extensively cruised the Bahamas and Caribbean. We even made a trip across the Atlantic in a sailboat! Only took four weeks and Nancy describes it best as "one very long carnival ride". We sold our beautiful Paradox in February of 1996  but joined the ranks of boaters again, since we purchased a Catalina 22, Prairie Sea in the summer of 1998. We finally have had our fill of sailing and sold Prairie Sea in August 2001. We are now "land lubbers" living in Cape Coral, Florida.

Our family is pretty much "plugged into" technology. On the left is our little baby, Cocoa Butter, a Burmese at age 15 years. She was totally into Bill Gates type products and someone just slipped her a copy O/S 2 Warp. As you can see by her expression, she was  not too thrilled with that platform, but then again, who was?!!!

On the other hand, she just turned her nose up when shown  Internet Explorer. Cocoa Butter just purrs "Netscape Navigator's the one for me". Smart cat!

Sadly, our beautiful Coco Butter passed away in June 2002 after a long illness. We are certain that she is stalking birds and other little creatures up in that land where cat nip is free and pain is but a long forgotten memory...

But life goes on and even though Nancy and I vowed we would never bring another pet into our lives, fate had other plans. After a difficult divorce, our daughter found herself in a position where she could no longer keep her blue Persian, MuffinTin, and asked if we would "adopt" her. It took no convincing and we are now parents to one of the most beautiful animals we have ever seen. Muffin Tin will never replace Cocoa Butter, but she holds her own unique position in our little family. She has a great disposition, always looking for affection, making it hard to work on the computer when she is rubbing our legs. Although not a "lap cat" as Cocoa was, she has quickly stolen our hearts. One look at those fantastic copper eyes and beautiful fur and who can resist? Then I felt like Muffin needed a friend, so we found Rocky at a cattery in Fort Lauderdale and he now keeps us amused. the photo above is when he was a kitten. He was born in 2005, so he is older now but just as spry and crazy as when he was younger.

Our oldest son, Kip, is living in Toronto Canada  and is in the biomedical engineering field with a couple of engineering degrees and an MBA. He is married to a lovely Canadian artist (Debi) and between them they have three beautiful daughters.

Carey, our only daughter is also living in Lee County. She's a school teacher in the Lee County School System. She completed  her doctorate in education at Nova University in February 2003. She has  3 children.

Our middle son Scot now lives in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He is actively involved in music and writes his own material. You can sample some of it by following this link to his MySpace website.

Andy, our youngest, is a lawyer now living in the Philippines.  He's married to a knockout named Vina and they have a beautiful daughter, Nikki.  They met (where else) on the internet!   Welcome to the family, Vina!!! 

I retired as a Professor of Electrical Engineering and an Integrated Circuit Designer and now lead the "good life".   One of my hobbies is Ham Radio. My call sign is W9UCR and I've held that call since 1952.  At the moment my main activity working CW (morse code) on the 20, 30 and 40 meter bands.. Retirement is not my bag though so I keep busy designing web sites. At the moment I have about 350 of them that I either have designed or maintain.  Nancy studied Search Engine Optimization and is now running the marketing section of our little company.
